Exercise and Your Guts
A good friend of mine has been studying nutrition and sharing with me what she has been learning. I had heard the term Leaky Gut Syndrome in the past but she was the first person to break it down and explain it to me. It essentially means that the things that we eat aren’t properly broken down into the individual metabolic pieces (amino acids) that allow our body to absorb the nutrition from the food into our bloodstream. What is left are these larger, clunky pieces (peptides) which already is an issue but then allows other stuff to filter directly into our bloodstream.
As was mentioned in the article, the study was small, but I doubt that anyone is going to advise against getting a little more exercise, whether if it’s your gut health, cardiovascular health, joint and spinal health, or to just get out and have some fun outside.
