A real life example of why the practice of meditation can be beneficial. I can’t even imagine being stuck in a cave for two weeks and hopefully I never have to, but this is a wonderful example of the importance and practicality of meditation. Mindfulness and meditation are not just the boring moments at the end of a yoga class where we do nothing. There is a real value to it. Office stress or the stresses of day to day living are in no way comparisons to what these young boys endured but our nervous system can respond in a similar fashion. If we can take the time to learn and practice mediation regularly we can learn to tap into it in a time of need. Take a moment, take a deep breath and close your eyes for another 10 breaths and see how you feel.
